BalkanNomads is a traditional Bulgarian co-living and coworking residence in the stunning nature of central Bulgaria for digital nomads and location independent remote workers.

Based in the northern slopes of the Balkan mountain range settled in a peaceful valley surrounded by old forests and hills, one can experience authentic life close to nature, where jackals, deer and other animals roam freely.

LOCATION

We are situated next to our sister project the RisingSoul Retreat in the authentic rural Bulgarian mountain village of Belitsa named after the river that runs through it providing a shady place to practice cold water swimming and bathing.

15-minutes drive from the touristic heritage old town of Tryavna, famous for it's traditional architecture, traditional crafts and tasty food.
10 minutes from the spa town of Voneshta Voda with its healing sulphur water spring and health baths
35 Min from the iconic fourtress mountain city of Veliko Tarnovo with art scene, climbing and hipster vibe bars and restaurants
Hiking to historical sites, monasteries, eco trials and caves
40 min mountain view drive to the city of humour Gabrovo famous for its communist monument Buzludsha and Shipka pass.


What We Offer

Accommodation
You will be staying in a traditional Bulgarian house in Belitsa, surrounded by forests and mountains. You can choose the en suite room for single or double occupancy. All monthly prices include 2 plant-based meals per day, a daily yoga session, and a daily meditation practice.

If you would like to book for shorter time than a month, then RisingSoul Retreat will be a better fit for you as we also offer nomad stays with accommodation at the RS Retreat with access to the Balkan Nomads Coworking Office.

All the en suite rooms for digital nomads have desks. Additionally, everyone has access to an additional coworking space: a 20-metre square coworking office with a large desk for 6 people and a smaller desk for two. A colour printer is available to use. A small private room for confidential calls can be booked for a small fee of 5lv (€2.50) per hour. Both rooms have desks, chairs, river views and log burners.

As location independent life gives us wonderful freedom, yet as digital nomads we all have to manage a life work balance, whilst travelling. So you can expect to find three sources of Wi-Fi a 10 & 20 Mb cabled Wi-Fi with a back-up of a 15 Mb 4G Mobex. From 2023 the Balkan Nomads Coworking Office will have the cabled 20 – 25mb system and a back-up of the 15 Mb 4G Mobex system.

Whilst our Wi-Fi is very reliable please note we are a rural Bulgarian village and whilst it is rare, occasionally they may turn off the electric for servicing, our systems are electric dependant. We do have good 4G coverage and recommend that guests who are very internet dependant or have no flexibility in their schedules purchase a data SIM card for emergencies. Local provider A1 has an option of 60Gb for 20lv (around 9 euros).

Shared use of this large community office Monday to Sunday and communal occasional use of a printer/scanner/copier will be included in your package price. If you require high quality or bulk printing, we work with a printer in Tryavna that can meet your needs at very reasonable prices and quick deadlines.

Working with a forest and river view certainly helps to keep you inspired and focused. But when work is over, you can step outside and remember that you are blessed to live in natures own rural retreat, the Balkan mountains. We are surrounded by nature and wildlife in the clean mountain valley air and spring and mineral water, perfect for taking a break from your busy life and pressing the reset button.

Plus, don't forget that you don’t have to cook or shop! We provide two plant based creative healthy and delicious community meals a day for you and if you get hungry during the day you can pop into the Chai House for snacks, coffees and drinks.
