We need to see a property before signing a one-year lease. Sight unseen is okay for a short vacation rental, but not for several months or a year.

The service fee is steep, and the contract’s request to “return the apartment in better condition than in which it was handed over” feels unfair. When we moved in, we had to clean up an ant infestation caused by leftover rotten food, only to be required to do a deep clean before leaving. I raised this with the landlord, who referred back to the contract and offered a €50 cleaning service. However, we weren’t reimbursed, compensated, or given a cleaning discount despite addressing the issue ourselves. This arrangement favors the landlord and leaves tenants with little flexibility or fairness. After this experience, I’ll be reluctant to use this service in the future.

First time using Flatio. I have no reason to leave a review until I've actually stayed in an apartment. Not happy with the extra service fees that pop up later. It is unpleasant to get extra surprise fees added on top. Hotels don't do it, neither should you. It says not to transfer any money not through flatio, and that there are no extra payments or deposits, yet the landlord in the apartment I am applying for, states clearly in the description that there is a cash deposit on entrance. How about talking to him?
